Australian surfer attacked by shark

SYDNEY (AFP) — A surfer was attacked by a shark off a deserted Australian beach on Saturday, prompting calls for patrols during the winter season.

The man suffered a small laceration to his leg and was taken to hospital with shock after being bitten during a morning surf at Seven Mile Beach, south of Sydney, emergency officials said.

I heard this statement a few years ago and thought this was the perfect way to put it.

"There are no such things as shark attacks... If a shark kicked down your front door and attacked you, that would be a shark attack. If you're in it's environment than it's just a shark acting out of instinct."
