The death of the cities in this country started with forced busing...Many middle class blacks thought it was insulting that their children couldn't learn unless they were sitting next to a white kid, they moved out...Whites didn't think it safe for their elementary school kids to be on a school bus over an hour morning and afternoon. No afterschool events, they moved out and that left only the poor blacks and whites..then the democrats had all the votes they needed..

Yes, you are right. Forced busing really accelerated things, didn’t it? That is when the really great private schools in our area grew exponentially. And homeschooling. It’s when I left teaching in the public schools, too (even tho I had just started).
