His wife and sons seemed like an after thought. I don't believe he went down there to breakup with this woman.

If I was his wife he would not have to leave me I would have kicked him out long ago. We had this same thing happen in our family (as it has in many families). My ex brother in law dumped his wife and family for a younger babe. It had been going on for a while but after he made the move to the babe’s place she decided he was too old for her and she really didn’t want him. That was the only bright spot in a terrible family tragedy. We still laugh about it.

He just forgot to tell the wife first. Maybe he wasn't sure if the Argentinian concubine wanted him and all the baggage that would come with him.
