Spain should use this as their wake-up call for next year. But I still think Brazil will be the team to beat. They’ve won every WC not held on European soil, since way back. But the US also does well when the WC isn’t held in Europe, so who knows, could this be a preview? Hmmm.
I guess I forgot about the two Argie World Cups, but Argentina may not make the WC, as shocking as that may sound.
Brasil is always the team to beat. Spain, well they often have grand illusions, lots of talented players, but just seem to lose their composure in tournaments.
Obviously not in Euro 08, but pretty often.
I do hope we get out of groups in WC2010. Never easy, but maybe with this core crew.
