“But if you’re a black youth” in Atlanta the police are on your side!

Well to be fair to the police, they don't turn a completely blind eye to black criminals. It's just that bringing in fine money seems to be a higher priority than catching real criminals.

...but predators still prowl the area.

You can dress up the hood, but it's still the hood. What's really telling is the Urban renewal in the south downtown area where smash and grabs are nearly daily occurrences. You sell $150 jeans and the crooks just walk right in and take as many as they can carry.

I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

True. I am a GSU grad myself. BTW, in GA there is an exemption for the 1000’ specifically for picking up/dropping off students.

My daughter goes to SCAD so I am in the same boat as you.

The police are not there to protect the individual. they are there to protect the society as a whole.
Exactly – They have no duty to protect an individual citizen – something that would probably shock most of the sheeple

I disagree with the premise that the ATL cops favor black youth. The amount of overcrowding and the demographics of the prisoners tell that story pretty clearly. The cops bust blacks all the time because, frankly, that is the vast majority skin color in ATL.

The cops, as with many jurisdictions, do spend far too much time doing "revenue enhancement", but the massive numbers of fatherless, feral, and predatory black youth in ATL is a problem whose scale is beyond repair. It's also, given the PC and afrocentric nature of ATL government, a problem that shall not be spoken of in public.

“I don't want to say anything about the police, because they've been kind to me,” Mills says “Atlanta the city with kind cops”.

Maybe he means none of them have shot the family dog yet!

It's hard to separate the police policy and the city government policy. There is a pro black bias in just about everything the city government does. At least we agree that revenue enhancement is the police dept's primary priority.

As far as the numbers of feral sociopath black "youts", you are 100% correct in that. Until people take more responsibility for their own actions, and a number of these animals in human form are killed in the act this is going to remain a problem. One of the biggest problems is the extreme anti-self defense bias that goes along with being a black democrat. And the Atl Government is made up of mostly black democrats. I came to the conclusion that the pro black bias was the reason for the extreme anti-gun attitude. If too many people kill predators, then too many black "youts" will be getting killed.

Yeah, they're being pretty kind to armed robbers too, don'tcha think?

I know about the exemption, but what if the “student” isn’t merely a student - she’s only 15 and they just utilize the building for rehearsals.

"There were cars in the middle of the road, coming at me. I stopped the cars. No one came to help me," says Mills.

Good question. School function, yet not attending the actual host facility. That is a quandry.

I would think attorney for answer. But, I have a bad feeling I know the answer. Other than don’t get caught of course.

If not stepping up the patrols is considered kind, then I'd say so too. I'd almost be willing to bet that there are a few more police around tech tonight than there were last night.

Why would anyone study/live in/ visit Atlanta if he/she did not have to? Atlanta is on the way to becoming Detroit South and the city's elected political leaders as well as “community activists” apparently welcome the slide into Third World chaos and dysfunction. After all, it is someone else’s fault. Sure Georgia Tech is a good school. But there are other good engineering schools. If Tech’s trustees want the school to survive, they better start looking for an alternative campus. Atlanta is finished.

You'd be surprised how many yuppies and singles want to live "where it's happening" rather than in the dull and considerably safer (but not safe amigo) suburbs. You couldn't pay me to live in that sh!thole, but I work there - that's bad enough.

I used to go to Atlanta a lot, but haven't been there in about 15 years. If I remember correctly Georgia Teck's foot ball stadium “Grant Field” Was right next to a housing project. There is another project on the other side of campus also. I don't know how it is now, but back in the 80’s Off campus was not a safe neighborhood. Here in Birmingham, Birmingham Southern College is in the same kind of neighborhood. They built a wall around the campus.

It is time for a few sting operations in the Georgia Tech area.

You see, the problem with that idea is that some "good boy," an "aspiring rapper" perhaps, someone who just happened to get mixed up with the gangs and was just "starting to turn his life around," might accidentally get caught up in such an operation, leaving an irate Granny or Auntie, along with her community activist preacher, screaming "racist oppression" on WSB-TV's 6 O'Clock News.

Also get rid of any ammunition or saved brass from the same lot, box, or manufacturer. A thorough cleaning of the remaining gun parts is called for.

Since forensics always advances, it may be better to hide or discard the firearm. If you are going to discard the firearm the barrel, firing pin and other parts should all be discarded separately. The gun can also be placed in a plastic pipe in the ground in the middle of nowhere and dug up 20 or 30 years later by your survivors.

Of course all this is just imaginative thinking and has nothing to do with what we would actually do. As a law abiding citizen, I would of course comply with all applicable regulations and laws of the vicinity in which any incident would occur.

You can't make stuff like this up.

For all of you who expressed an interest yesterday in the crime spree in the gun free zone around the GA Tech, there were no reported armed robberies there last night, and most important the police have announced this morning a metro wide crackdown on (trumpet fanfare tata tata):
EXPRESSWAY SPEEDERS
Yes folks, presented with what would have been an embarassing situation with violent crime (if government apparatchicks were capable of embarassment), the police responded with stepping up their fund raising activities. And here you though that the police would not keep you safe.

This goes hand in hand with the governor's "super speeder" bill that doubles fines for those going over 85 on the expressway which the governor stated was designed solely to enhance public safety although they also stated that they expected to raise $30 million with it.

Btw if I left off anyone I apologize in advance.
