A smart concert organizer would have empowered the ushers to say, we're sorry you're sick, we'll give each member of your party a (souvenir cap, coupon worth 50% off the next event here, T-shirt, etc.) at the exit gate if you leave now.

Yeah, it sounds like rewarding bad behavior, but it ends up disturbing the other concertgoers a lot less and, in the long run, costing the concert organizers a lot less.

In a previous life, I worked such events of this nature. It was amazing how quickly you could keep trouble like this from escalating with a small bribe. It was also amazing how quickly tiny problems could escalate once security, police and lawyers got involved.
