Do you ever think about anything besides dogs? Do you think you will change any minds? Do you have national statistics showing the rates of attacks/deaths by dog type?

If he/she doesn’t stats are available from the American Vet Med Assoc (AVMA). Pits are by centuries of breeding, the worst offenders of serious, often lethal, attacks.

I have some stats.

I can find a bunch more if you need them. What surprises the heck out of me is that these stats are not hard to find. People who don't want to deal with the truth simply won't do their homework to see the factual reality in this matter.
Pitt Bulls and Pitt Bull crosses make up over half of the dogs responsible for fatal dog attacks every year but are only 9% of the total dog population. They make up about 75% of total attacks where substantial damage is done and are still only 9% of the dog population of this country.
These numbers alone demonstrate the factual truth about this breed.

Ladies and gentlemen:

Years ago I stood up to two different dog owners with vicious dogs. In one case they were pit bulls owned by a family that was known for selling crack. In the other case it was a pack of dobermans who were left alone most of the time. The owners were non repentant and in denial. This is an ongoing problem and the law is not the best protection.

Chet99 and people like him rally people to the cause of standing up to those who would endanger their children. Thank you Chet99.

Pit bull owners would be very careful about their dogs getting loose if there were a law that stated that neighbors of pit bull onwers could carry machetes and fifty caliber handguns at all times when they were within two blocks of the pit bullhouse and/or their owners.
