What a bunch of wusses golfers are. Could you imagine a story anywhere that felt it was newsworthy to report that ‘some drunken fans yelled at Albert Pujols yesterday at the Cardinals game’? Or, ‘some drunken fans heckled Peyton Manning yesterday at the Colts game.”

Wusses, with people running around commanding the paying audience to shut up because these lightweights can’t hit the ball if someone so much as eats a potato chip.

Well, I guess it's about where you want the average scores to be. It's about how little they hit that ball. How very, very little. Excessive noise breaks concentration, leading to more whacks. If no one minds average scores hitting 200, you can treat it like a baseball game, WTH. But usually, people want to see how low the score can actually get, under ideal conditions. That's, like, the point.

I see you have either never played the game, or played for cash.

Which is it?

I know. Professional baseball players(pitchers and batters) have to perform with deafening noises coming down on them constantly and they learn to tune them out for the most part. A professional golfer though can’t hit the ball under any conditions except total silence.

Golf has a certain etiquette that people are supposed to follow. Baseball, Football, Soccer, Boxing... those are sports where the crowd is EXPECTED to act a certain way. The crowds at Golf tournaments are also expected to act a certain way. If they want to go watch a sport where they can act like idiots then they should have went to a different sporting event.
