A federal judge says John Hinckley, the man who tried to kill President Ronald Reagan, can spend more time away from his psychiatric hospital and apply for a driver's license. In a ruling issued Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman says Hinckley's health will probably improve with more freedom and that he wouldn't be a danger to himself or others.

"I was in college when Reagan was shot. I remember all of us being gathered in the dormatory’s rec room where there was a TV. Everyone was silent and stunned. And that was at UW-Madison WI, now known as the Berkely of the Midwest. "

In 1981, was at an Ivy League school (Princeton) and I heard faculty members say that "Reagan is better off dead because of what he will do to the environment."

Wayne Root, the libertarian, was at Columbia and he watched his entire class stand up and cheer when it was erroneously announced that Reagan was dead. The professor particpated in the frolics, also.

No, nothing surprises me about the left in America anymore. A party that will cheer the injury or death of a political opponent will cheat to win a Senate seat (Franken in Minnesota, McCaskill in Missouri), and allow an unqualified candidate to become President (Obama).

Wow, those Ivy leaguers were harsh. I can clearly remember that day, and no one around me at UW-Madison was anything but concerned for President Reagan. Today Madison is so liberal, especially at the UW, and they would not be as kind as they were when I was there.

I agree, nothing is too low for liberals. Nothing surprises me anymore. I believe they have deceived the world and there is a foreign born usurper in the White House. That is as low as it gets. Total disregard for The Constitution.
