KILGORE, Texas - Authorities say two pit bulls fatally mauled a 10-year-old boy in East Texas.
The Rusk County Sheriff's Office says witnesses reported seeing the dogs drag Justin Clinton down the side of the road Monday in the small community of Leverett's Chapel.

Doing the countdown until the obligatory post accusing the 10 year old of “provoking” the sweet gentle little lamb chop pitties.
The owner of those dogs should be strung up!
The thing that I find so interesting is that those people think they're somehow being "fair" by saying that the owner should be punished severely for this kind of thing.
Yeah, that's great. Doesn't help the poor kid, though. (I'm pro-life--I value the lives of innocent children over the "right" to own an often vicious, uncontrollable breed.)
Prayers for both of these families.
The dog was bred for one thing only and that was to kill. The breed needs to be diluted, debred whatever to remove this trait.
I agree. If you own an animal, you should be responsible for what they do. Dogs like these should never be allowed to run loose.

“You can’t train the animal out of an animal. As sweet as a dog can be you never really know what might set it off. Dogs that have that kind of power in their bite just shouldn’t be allowed in public.”
Prayers Up for Justin,,,RIP,,,
This is all over local news here,,,
IIRC this is the third attack in Rusk County this year,,,
From what was reported the locals ain’t happy...
There are many who just do not get this concept.
They were bred to fight to the death, using a pit as the ring- hence the name pit bull.
This is just so sad.
My stepson owns a pitbull. He seems very sweet but I am afraid of him. The other day he growled at my stepson for telling him lay down on his mat. My stepson thinks he can handle him and he might be able to but the problem is, he is career military and is often gone and his wife is a tiny gentle little thing and I am so afraid the dog is going to attack and kill her while he is gone. Neither one of them takes us serious when we try to warn them of the dangers of a pitbull. My step daughter in law is left with the job of putting this dog in a pen everyday so she can go to work. Its just an explosive situation.
Don’t Pit Bulls have to be registered in Texas?
I hope the young woman has a gun within reach in case this vicious animal decides to get even with her for putting him in a cage all day.
Do you think your stepson or daughter-in-law would be willing to join your local pit bull advocacy group?
You might find them on Craigslist, or check with a breed rescue group.
If the dog is growling at your son for any reason, that’s a huge red flag, and it needs to be dealt with.
“Dont Pit Bulls have to be registered in Texas?”
I live in Texas and I haven’t heard of this requirement. I have two young girls and there is a pit bull in the back yard adjacent to my back yard. He broke some pickets in a fence we share. His head would stick through. Last week I saw the dog running down the ally alone. I did fix the fence, but must always accompany my girls when they go outside, and they love to go outside.
so why is it that these dogs aren't behind 10ft chain link fences that extend into the ground for two feet?......
why do little children have to suffer horrible deaths because somebody thinks they know better than anyone how sweet their dog is?....
I have no idea. I don't think it's a coincidence that EVERY time I've seen an owner interviewed, he comes off as a moron who's an expert on his breed so he can quote gobbleygook, and knows little else.
