When you get right down to it, a computer is just an incredibly inefficient space heater. Takes a wad of electricity, turns a little bitty bit of it into 1's and 0's, and the rest into heat.

Physicists Yulin Chen, Zhi-Xun Shen and their colleagues tested the behavior of electrons in the compound bismuth telluride.

Hold on there sparky. Bismuth though *safer* than Lead or Mercury still presents some issues the green freaks may go whacko over as its 'slightly' RADIOACTIVE

It is generally considered to be the last naturally occurring stable, non-radioactive element on the periodic table, although it is actually slightly radioactive, with an extremely long half-life.

So Bismuth could become the next 'plastic bag' (cough) problem.

After 20 years of using Bismuth shotgun shells for hunting the birds may start glowing in the dark.
