O.K., but this from wikipedia:
The law also required that all newly-manufactured firearms produced by licensed manufacturers in the United States and imported into the United States bear a serial number. Firearms manufactured prior to the Gun Control Act remain exempt from the serial number requirement. Defacement or removal of the serial number (if present) is a felony offense.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_Control_Act_of_1968
Also, any info I can find on the 69A indicates that none has serial #’s, and they were made into the ‘60s.

I see only a two-story frame house on a farm. You always set up your targets AWAY from the barn! But, no berm or other backstop; unsafe setup.

I just googled Winchester model 6 and found none. Could they mean Model 62 Pump?

***Nickled with polished bone/horn/? grips,,,***
Check the hinge for irregularities. Often the hinge would break, then be brazed back and the firearm plated to cover it up.

Why does it matter whether or not the gun can be traced. The article does not give a reason. Can anybody enlighten me? Along with tieing it to other crimes, he was a felon. If the purchase was illegal they'd go after the seller.
