In other words you lied when you said that you would order the book in order to shame Noni. Had you sent for the book, like you promised to do, it certainly would have arrived by now, and you could have had your imaginary triumphant moment. You never even tried because you know that you lied about the numbers of black solders and you realize that obtaining the book seals the lie.
