See this is why I’m glad I’m not on AT&T, the chances of me fighting the urge to upgrade my iPhone every year would be impossible.

I did pretty good going from iPhone 2.5 to iPhone 3G. Due to the ability to “jailbreak” iPhone 2.5, the secondary market stayed strong. In fact, I sold my iPhone 1 on eBay for $390 and then got the iPhone 3G for $299. Won’t be able to do that going to 3GS.

Oh, you're going to have to get one. It's got a compass in the stock a thing that tells time.

Had one for a year. Love it.

You said — See this is why I’m glad I’m not on AT&T, the chances of me fighting the urge to upgrade my iPhone every year would be impossible.

Well, what you may not know is that the *improvements* that come out next year and the year after are mostly *software improvements* — and the older owners get the *new stuff* without having to buy a new phone.

Now, ain’t that special! LOL...

Of course, if you’re talking about adding some specific hardware (a few items like that) — then that requires an hardware upgrade.

BUT, I’ve got *newer iPhones* without ever having to buy a new iPhone, simply by doing the software upgrade. What a deal!!
