That might explain its inclusion, or maybe they just wanted to throw Ringo a bone. I have to admit, whenever I don't skip over the song, it makes me think of the movie A Hard Day's Night. Poor Ringo.

I'm not a musician, so I can't really assess it from that standpoint. I'll keep that in mind, and the next time I listen to it I'll pay closer attention to the musicianship. It's just so hard to block out the awful lyrics!

LOL...I didn’t say it was a musical masterpiece or even hard to play (its not) but just that it is fun with the youngin (just as Rocky Raccoon, Maxwell’s Silver Hammer, Bungalow Bill are).
