PURDY, Wash. -- A student presenting an essay at Peninsula High School in Purdy on Tuesday morning took out a marijuana joint, lit it, and began smoking it, police said.
Read the essay here. See cell phone video.
According to Pierce County sheriff's detective Ed Troyer, the student smoked the joint during his essay supporting the legalization of marijuana.
He then finished his essay, sat down, finished smoking the joint and then ate the end after it was fully smoked.
The teacher of the class contacted the school resources officer, a Pierce County sheriff's deputy, who found a small residual amount of marijuana on the student, Troyer said.
The student, a 17-year-old junior with a 3.7 grade-point average, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana by Pierce County deputies and booked into Remann Hall in Tacoma.
Okay... he’s got good scores on tests then, and he turns in his homework and he shows up in class like he’s supposed to.
To me he’s still dumb by smoking weed... LOL...
I’ve just seen too many people whacked out on that stuff. It’s simply no good at all for people. That’s from my own direct observations of people (who do smoke it) over the years (from college days onward, now up into my retirement years). I don’t smoke it and I would have to be crazy, dying and have dementia — and even then I wouldn’t ever do it.
To each his own I guess :-)
Good thing he didn’t light up a cigarette, he would have been arrested, the school would be fined and the students sent to the hospital for tests to see if they contacted cancer yet.
I'm kinda surprised that, in this case, Algore seems to support states's rights somewhat. Too bad he can't be half-assed consistent on respecting the 10th Amendment, ya know? The GOP is just as guilty as the Dims are on that point (albeit on different issues, but getting equal results: the concentration of power towards Washington, C.D. & away from state & local authorities).
In the immortal words of Forest Gump:
Stupid is, as stupid does!
I have a feeling this generation of kids is going to be alright.
Seriously, a lot of them are really good kids.
