With this kind of reverence for the sacrament of marriage, is it any wonder there is such a high divorce rate?

I was married in a Catholic Cathedral. They had very strict rules about pretty much everything in the wedding - but especially about the dress. I had my dream (strapless) dress already imagined in my head; that was quickly ruled out, as the bride and all wedding party members are required to have covered shoulders and back.

My dress was beautiful, but it was much more conservative than most of today’s brides (this was in 2005).

Also, my photographer asked if I would be interested in doing a boudoir photo shoot. It made me uncomfortable and seemed weird, so I declined. But I guess if that’s what floats your boat...

Dressing like tramps? Did it ever occur to the editors of Noose-weak that many young brides ARE tramps?

That picture of Madonna is from 1984 when she made the “Like A Virgin” video and also performed at the MTV Awards.

I still see beautiful wedding dresses, even strapless ones, at the weddings I attend or when I watch shows like Say Yes to the Dress, etc.

My daughter-in-law’s brother got married naked. When she first said this I just could not process it and only years later realized she meant it. I don’t know what I thought she meant but to me it was so bizarre that my mind just did something like translate “naked” into meaning something else I guess. When I found out this sister in law had the hobby of showing up at other people’s weddings naked it finally sunk into my thick skull that the brother and sil truly did get married in the nude. It is hard to not feel sort of like we have lost it.

Some of the pics you'll find are of bridal lingerie, not for the ceremony.

But yeah. Some trampy brides are officially stamped.

I HATE, repeat HATE the strapless wedding gown. I hope the woman I end up marrying has enough sense to not wear one.
