Well, one thing we know: Rommel was forced to commit suicide after the July 20th Bomb Plot because of his involvement in the conspiracy.
Actually, Rommel’s name was on a list the conspirators had of people they wanted in the post-Hitler government. It’s never been clear, however, whether Rommel was actually communicating with them. Regardless, the high command, including Rundstedt, threw Rommel under the bus. The suicide pact kept everything quiet and allowed his wife to get his pension.
I do not believe any evidence has been produced to show Rommmels involvement in the July 20th plot..
Hitler was paronoid and Rommel was a big hero to the German people,kinda like Stalin with his purges...
