They're really reaching for the stats: "And he holds the record for the longest return of a kick to open the second half of a game in a domed stadium west of the Mississippi."

Besides, they've only kept stats on sacks for about 25 years. I think Deacon Jones coined the term for tackling a quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. Prior to that, it was just considered a tackle for loss.

Safeties who play run support generally don’t get many picks.

A better stat was how many personal fouls and fines he collected over the years.
