Hardly the issue the GOP should go after.

The issue that the GOP needs to go after right now is figuring out what, after Bush/Cheney, the GOP actually stands for. After no child left behind, the creation of the world's most incompetent bureaucracy, gov care for drug companies, reducing education to the lowest common denominator, obsessive compulsive security behavior at home while letting insurgents set the time manner and place of battle in Iraq, etc. etc., bailing out democratic donors on Wall Street to the tune of $750B, the GOP needs to figure out just where it wants this country to go.

Then you can take on Obama about important issues. Where he goes on a date with his wife is never our business actually. The man is president of the United States. It cost us the same bundle everytime George and Laura winged it back home to Crawford. An imperial presidency is expensive, but that is what we wanted. It has little to do with the man.

You can bet the DNC would be going after Bush for this type of waste.

They probably would but that doesn't make it the most important issue. Its kinda like complaining about how much money Hitler spent on Eva Braun.

Obamachev’s gross abuse of his office perks is something the average Joe can understand.

How is he abusing his office going to New York for the weekend?

I am very very worried. The GOP simply lacks and operating philosophy any more. Their ideological bankruptcy is apparent when we have GM without a whimper, but dinner and a show, and we are wailing our heads off. It is going to be a long 30 years or so.

“How is he abusing his office going to New York for the weekend?”

Abuse of office perks, Air Forced One, etc.

Don’t you think it’s excessively self indulgent to fly three planes, copters, security, clog downtown NYC for one night?

From the Drudge Report post:

Taxpayers footed the bill for the big night on the town, which included a total of at least $24,000 for the three aircraft used to ferry the Obamas, aides and reporters to New York and back. Dinner costs and orchestra seat tickets — at $96.50 apiece — were paid by the Obamas.

Obama’s jet, a Gulfstream 500, served as a more modest Air Force One for the day in place of the customary presidential Boeing 747.

The White House declined to say how much the trip was costing taxpayers.

Your right this is not an issue the gop should go after. However, they should emulate the press and make VERY public how mugabe is spending his time, while the taxpayers are getting their dinner from the local food pantry. OUR DEAR LEADER is going out on the town in NYC spending hundreds of thousands of our dollars, what a role model. On and On and On.
My dinner tonight was what was left in the fridge from the week and my entertainment was getting the kids to bed and paying bills. Thanks dims and your media.

how mugabe is spending his time, while the taxpayers are getting their dinner from the local food pantry.

That is a good point. It shouldn't be the central issue but it does belong on the canvas.

It was the RNC that supported the credit card changes signed two years ago that screwed everyone.

I question 63% approval rating ...its either a rigged poll or ist a push poll....like “in view of the horrible way George Bush ruined the economy and the country, and the tremedous number of problems he left, do you consider bama as having done an okay job?”

“I question 63% approval rating “

I know what you mean. When Clinton had this level of approval ratings through the impeachment, I was saying to myself, how can this be?

Obamachev hasn’t be associated with his incompetent policies yet. I think we should blame him for everything that goes wrong until something sticks. We don’t have to be reasonable or big. Just vicious.

Worked for the Democrats vs W and Republicans.

This why guys around here are a bunch of idiots. The man is President of the US. We already paid for all of that when we decided to have a modern imperial president. The AF1 is paid for as is the staff to fly it and so forth. Bush's visits to Crawford were even more expensive. If you knew how much it cost in secret service time for the man to walk down the hall and use the John you would we whining at how much a Presidential pee costs.

It is not as though the man can just walk to Union Station with his wife and catch the train. Sheesh. All of the communications and intelligence support and security go wherever he goes 24hrs a day. He could go spend a "free" holiday with the best paying lobbyist in town and it will still cost you the same, save one of the two dozen rooms in the hotel that his staff takes whenever he travels.
