Turner, 32, rushed to a nearby house and made that call.

God Bless this man. He saved her life, and maybe other future victims.

No one should drive 30 miles out into the woods unarmed either.

Sound familiar? Good thing he didn’t “mind his own business.” It’s nice to know there are still some real men left in this world.

This guy did a great thing, but who drives 30 miles just to deliver a single pizza? If you’re doing that I guarantee you’re losing money. Just on a whim this guy decides to drive 30 miles to deliver a pizza where normally there’s not a snow ball’s chance in hades any smart business could make a profit doing this? In fact they would lose money.

I don’t know, guys... I’m a little suspicious about this whole thing. For instance, if you were a woman, would you get into the car of some guy who was just a customer at your restaurant/bar? Her timing was too perfect; she jumped up while her abductor took what?...(I’m guessing)... 5 seconds to sign a receipt, showed her tied-up hands, spun around and mouthed “Please call 911.” The abductor didn’t hear the “commotion” going on a few feet behind him while she was doing this, etc.? Cops are very suspicious people, too... I’m sure if there was any hanky-panky going on, they’ll flush it out.

“She got into the vehicle....”

That’s the weird part of the story. But it does say the guy frequented her business; so maybe she felt safe. Still, in light of what happened, seems odd.

Turner told The Associated Press on Friday that he noticed the woman pop up from a couch while her abductor signed the credit card slip.

Skip over this content “While I was standing in the door all you could see was the back of the couch,” Turner said. “And then she popped over the back of the couch and showed me that her hands were bound. And she was just mouthing, ‘Please call 911.’”

...

The woman told authorities she was jogging near her home in Atlanta about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday when a frequent customer at a restaurant and bar owned by the woman and her husband asked her to see his new car. She got into the vehicle, which turned out to be a rental, and was immediately tied up.

...

“She was just thanking me ... for trusting her,” Turner said. “She said he was going to kill her ... after he got done with her.”

...

Thank God she lived through this.

Police arrested David J. Jansen, 46, of Snellville, Ga., without a struggle on charges of aggravated kidnapping and rape, Sheriff Ron Seals said in a statement. He was released on $800,000 bond late Thursday. His attorney, Donald Bosch of Knoxville, had no comment Friday.

They released this guy on bond for Chrissakes???? What the hell are they thinking?

The neighbor who helped them was armed. from the other link:

“Turner then climbed into the delivery van, where his wife, Laniesha, was waiting. They drove to neighbor Bill Toomey’s house, where they called police.

Toomey and Turner waited for about 20 minutes for deputies to arrive. Worried that Jansen would flee, Toomey blocked the cabin’s driveway with his truck.

“I had a gun at my side in case,” said Toomey, who owns Toomey’s Country Market in Gatlinburg.”

Too bad he wasn't one of those armed pizza men. I hope he is now.

If he had been, he could have handed the rapist the pizza box and said 'Oh, wait. I have some coupons for you here in my back pocket...' and whipped out his .45 and pointed it at his chest.

'You take your hands off that pizza box and I'll have to drop you, understand?'.
