Schlitz is the slug beer of choice.

We also had a raccoon problem. Purchase a Havahart trap and use cat food for bait. Your problem will be ready for animal control pick up in the morning.

When I was in high school we had slugs and my dad put out tins of beer to catch them. My dog found them and drank the beer. (The only thing we ever found that George didn’t like was black coffee.)

As was Falstaff & Grain Belt; in their day.

Just DON'T use light beer.

IF you are growing marigolds around your Tomato plants, that is the place that I'd put the beer. {Have you ever seen what slugs and snails can do to a young marigold?}

Plant guy on the radio talked about this the other day. He said get rid of the grubs and the critters will stop coming around. He recommended beneficial nematodes (they eat the grubs or kill them or something).

Hey thanks. To me, tho, the grubs are earthworms and etc that are beneficial. But I suppose I could cement it over. I did put wire mesh under the dirt around the roses, they seem to like those best.

bad things.

Um, our Border Collie likes his coffee with half-and-half. Make that MY coffee. Maybe you just haven’t served your dog coffee the way he likes it. haha.

I had coons eat the corn without taking it off the stock...nasty creatures...in the country 20 or 12 gage work...But best is a live trap, bated with jam or jelly in an empty margarine tub(you only need a couple of spoonfulls of jam) ...just make a hole in the margarine tub and tie it to the bottom of the cage...they get smart and reach over and pull the margarine tub out without triggering the trap lever...then drown them...nasty predators, I hate them, as they ate more of my chickens than I did. The will also kill rabbits and cats if they can..carry rabies...and eat any barnyard fowl..except geese. My live trap has been used for years, by me on the farm and also in the counry, (no farm) my son’s have borrowed it for use in sub-divisions. You don’t need the large one, a medium size one works, the small one is way too small. A good investment. I think they run about 30-40 dollars..
