Dave Marba didn’t get into powerlifting to become one of the world’s strongest men. But after bench-pressing 501.2 pounds last weekend in Saturday, that’s exactly what he’s become.
Marba’s lift at the World Association of Benchers and Deadlifters meet at the Mariott in Rancho Cordova set a new world record in the Men’s Masters 61-67 year-old age group in the 220-pound weight class.
“I’m just getting better and getting stronger,” the 62-year-old Marba said by phone earlier this week. “I’ve hooked up with a body builder friend who know a lot about nutrition, so who knows how high I can take it.”

Steroids are extremely rare in prison...not saying there is none but it’s very pricey and most folks prefer escapist dope like H or weed if they can afford contraband dope to begin with
and those pesky urine tests they bombard anyone with suspicion where unlike at your doctors office or the insurance company they do them by surprise and a CO watches you from start to finish...no Golden Seal rescue
hence...no, actually very little roid use in the joint so you get to see what folks look like and what sort of weight they lift natural
and it’s a big difference

What's the overall world record in the bench press? ...unrestricted by age or weight. Real heavy!:) Actually in 2008 it was a little over 1000 lbs, forget the actual weight.
