My husband bought those stupid hanging tomato planters. I told him to hang them under the deck, they are so ugly. Anyway my fav. flower to grow in the summer is the Portulaca.

You know, lady...those should work as advertised. I’ll be very interested in your results; I’m originally from Ohio so we have a similar climate.
If he hangs those bad boys on the south side of your porch, they should do great. Tomatoes are considered a vine. If your space is limited, you might want to make sure he chooses a determinate variety. Lest you end up with a jungle. LOL

I told him to hang them under the deck, they are so ugly. As produce prices continue to rise; you will find 'ugly' drops quite a bit on your list of concerns. :-)
My wife used to worry about 'ugly' years ago...no more.
