I think the Trucks are closer to the local small track racin. I miss most of the Saturday truck races as that is the one day I report to work. It is my responsibility to get the Donuts there on time to avoid a riot. It's not easy but things got better last week when the crew voted that stinkin Maple frosting off the island!
I would imagine Speed doesn't have to run as many commercials as FOX to cover their overhead. I hope Digger has his own show next year, perhaps on the murder and mayhem channel.

I loved it......The only part missing was during the drivers meeting when the man in the fabulous and popular green suit rose up from his chair in the back and strolled towards the front row where the boy in the yellow suit sat next to the boy in the orange suit.
The room became hushed, necks strained to see or possibly hear what wise words the man in the green suit would say to the boy. But alas, no one heard a word. The man in the green suit, being a man of many well spoken words, certainly got his point across to the boy who could only snicker in response. The racing Gods took note of that and added it to their list.

Thank you vox.....:) I have since added ... even the man in the blue suit who begged could not find out what was said.
Also on the ‘24’ front I got this message -
Jack Bauer is following you on Twitter. You can run, but odds are it’s too late.”
Scared the cr@p outta me. :D
Does he still have the plague or will he kneecap me or ???

I like this one.
Jack Bauer once lost reception on his cell phone. 24 hours later AT&T announced that it would have more bars in more places.
Some of those with no bars race at the back of the pack in Nascar according to one driver and spotter.

I could see some kind of penalty staying in place, but for crying out loud, they need to make it proportionate. Fine him $5,000 and suspend him for 1-2 races. He clearly was not getting any advantage over anyone, and doesn’t appear to have been trying to do so.

I personally think since France Sr died the whole place has gone to pot.
Now they are sending Mayfield’s case to federal court. Just make a bigger deal out of it so the whole sport looks bad. From what I’ve read he was taking Adderall which is for ADD and is a type of amphetamine. Not sure about the secret list of banned rx and illegal drugs Nascar has figures into this.

Should someone with ADD be driving a car at 180 mph?

Ah...Adderall...that makes sense, then. There are a number of legitimate drugs that would probably show up as amphetamines. That’s the problem with not having a list of banned substances.
If he has a prescription for it, they should have just apologized and let it drop. If not...well, then he’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.

I’m not a Dr, but if the meds keep it under control maybe??? probably best to remain in the owner category - but he can’t do that with this suspension either.
Also more on Carl Long Gone
What are the odds Swing can come up with 200 large now that The Suits have determined the fine cant be passed up the financial food chain?
Is nil a legitimate over/under bet on whether Long will be on track after the 12 race ban has expired?
For the record The Suits were Appeals board chairman George Silbermann, John Capels and Jack Housby. They issued the following statement:
[Longs] testimony came across as genuine and heartfelt, the panel wrote in its statement. While it is tempting to consider penalties that this driver and team can more readily bear, the sport would not be well served by having a sliding scale of penalties calibrated to a given team or members resources. Penalties of this magnitude for this type of infraction are warranted in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
But wait, isnt this a scale that has slid when you consider Robby Gordons penalty given, then reduced when caught with an illegal part - albeit one purchased from a vendor as Long has done?
Whats next for Carl?
Theres always the AMRA, sponsorship dollars are less important. On the other hand the vehicles have less space for logos and such.
But hey, he could poach one of Carl Edwards sponsors, its not all bad news.
