She was the most beautiful young woman, and even now, in early middle age, she is very lovely. It’s amazing how the most beautiful girls and women sometimes are made to think they’re unattractive, while plain ones can be full of self-confidence that makes them attractive. But if Ms. Shields thinks that having sex earlier would have made her feel better about herself, she’s quite wrong. That never helps. The problem is inside and can’t be fixed by the crude attentions of college boys.
“Let me save you from low self esteem -— Brooke Shields says we should do it!”
Yes, I fail to see how being a public toilet for males who will screw anything with a pulse would have helped her "body image" or self-esteem. For most of us, growing up is what it takes.

By whom are they "made to think?"
No one "makes" anyone else to "think." Accepting that errant philosophy has given us so many lies in America in particular but even the rest of the world today.
The idea that anyone is "made to think" is tantamount to "made to act," etc., etc., etc. Only a person accepts or rejects the opinions of others. This statement takes me back to the term "the Devil made me do it" and that was part of a comedy routine.
