I was going to mention the Life Flight helicopters too. They regularly fly from Westmoreland Hospital, on a flight path over Murrysville, to the major Pittsburgh Hospitals.

I thought of LifeFlight as well...but I think they follow the Rte. 30 to Turnpike path (Greensburg to Pittsburgh). I trully live over a hill from the Pike and can hear the road traffic as well as the air traffic (constantly—when windows are open—wish I knew that before we moved here!). The YouTube video was quiet (I was able to pick up the cricket sounds). Ms. Krouse’s locale could be Delmont/Export or Penn Township sides (fairly suburban or rural) or the Monroeville side (more deeply developed). In any event...interesting...

We normally do not hear them until they clear our ridge. This is just a couple of thousand feet. As soon as they clear the far ridge the noise stops. When LifeFlight is overhead you feel like hitting the deck.
