He was.

I didn’t understand the “collaboration” comment either.

BTW: over the years he has used Dick, Dicky, Dickey and Richard Betts.

His given name is Forrest Richard Betts.

I think he’s currently using Dickey with the “e”.

The first rock concert I ever attended was at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ in the early 70’s.

Acts in order of appearance:

Frank Marino and Wishbone Ash
Mountain
Johnny Winter
Alice Cooper.

A month later I saw the Allman Brothers at the same venue. It was their “Brothers and Sisters” tour.

Yes. My son and his girl went to a Alman Bros. concert becaue they loved the old music I had of the band. Totally disappointed. Not the same band in any way.

I hold the Allman Bros trump card.....we were at the Friday night half of the “Live at the Fillmore East” session....thirty-five plus years ago.

Actually, in the interest of full disclosure, I had no idea who they were. See, there was this girl...she needed a ride...I had a car....

Have seen the Allman's several times, my wife many more... One night we were in Santa Clara at a little club and Greg and the Alameda All Stars--a pick up band he used when he was living out here. Great blues to be sure--off course it was, cause at teh table next to us was John Lee Hooker. I knew John, so introduced on of our friends to JLH. She was awestruck and couldn;t speak a word. Later that night we all went backstage. That was when he was hooked up with Savannah. She was sitting there in the corner. Greg was typically bombed, but pulled something from his brief case and autographed it to Sweet Marisa, (my wife's name...)

Great night and great fun..

Butch Trucks gave me my copy of Eat A Peach :) He was visiting my brother about a sire for his horse. I was in my teens and a bit gaga...lol

That's as it should be.

One should see his own wife many more times than he sees the Allman Brothers. :)

Hatchet still around? I was in FL when they did the Jamming for Danny Joe Brown concert. I saw them with the new frontman years later. He was actually pretty good, but who can fill Dan Joe's shoes.

Warren Haynes - hardest working man in the business. Been saying it for years. He played with Phil Lesh's band and the Allman's and Gov't Mule ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I have no idea how he balances the work load - I just know he rocks.

The 40th tour ought to be a good show. Haynes and Trucks are amazing and Susan Tedici usually sings a couple of great songs.

Hey wardaddy - I bet you had Gregg's back brawlin with the boys

Well, my sentiment was the same. He’s been back to El Paso twice and I haven’t gone either time.

I find it funny, most of the people that sport the Che shirts would be the first to go. Useful idiots.

Thats cool, I’ve always liked Michael McDonald’s voice. Not sure why, as I usually like the harder rock or more country stuff.
