By the time this set to be widespread, other battery technology will replace it IMO. ‘Spin’ batteries are fascinating to me right now. We don’t have enough Lithium anyway so that is generally a moot point.

Electric-only cars to be mandated to fill American roads within 10 years, with no future president able to repeal that (how they’d do it, I know don’t).

Electric auto players ready for U.S. launch

By Steve Gelsi, MarketWatch

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Electric car players touted the virtues of their wares Thursday at the Cowen & Co. Clean Energy Conference as a lower-cost, less polluting alternative to burning fossil fuels, as they ready their entries for the U.S. auto market.

Daniel Elliott, CEO of Phoenix Motorcars, said the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based company will begin selling its electric, four-door pickup truck to the fleet market next year with a likely roll-out to the consumer market in 2009.

So, instead of only being able to commute from San Mateo to San Francisco, or, from San Marino to downtown LA, now, it could mean from SJ to SF and San Bernadino to LA. Big whoop.

...this company has been public for over a decade and is losing 31 cents a share....think I’ll pass on investing in this outfit....reminds me of Ballard(BLDP)the fuel cell guys...remember them during the dot com run up?....at one time trading over $100/share....now you can have all you want for $1.87....they were gonna be the next big thing in energy too.
