I’ve considered getting a tattoo many times — there is alot of tattooing done here in New Zealand, and some of the Maori designs are amazing — but I’ve always stopped short of doing so.

Removal here is by laser and it is apparently quite painful and expensive, and the end-result isn’t often perfect.

I can’t think of any designs that I’d want to have with me forever: what was important to me as little as 10 years ago is now unimportant. In 10 years’ time, who knows?

In the 90s, this was popular. Now it's not. Things change. People change.
