Temple "Terrorists" Could Barely Buy Handguns, Let Alone Missiles!

The FBI's army of confidential informants seems to increasingly embed itself with some of the most inept "terrorists" imaginable. I just skimmed the US Attorney's criminal complaint against the fearsome foursome that allegedly targeted two Riverdale synagogues and a Newburgh airport. I'm left with the sense that they aren't such a scary bunch.

James Cromitie, David Williams, Onta Williams, and Laguerre Payen, no doubt wanted to blow up Jewish temples and military aircraft. They clearly wanted to obtain C-4 and surface-to-air missiles. The problem is they were fantastically far removed from any realistic means of obtaining WMDs. In other words, these accused Bronx bombers were no more capable of executing an explosive attack, than a little league team is capable of beating the New York Yankees.

In the federal complaint, there's one recorded conversation in particular, that illustrates just how feeble these so-called terrorists were, even when compared, to garden variety drug dealers.

On April 23rd, inside a Newburgh house rigged with video and audio surveillance, one of the suspects made a call to an "unknown female gun supplier." The accused terror team wanted to have several handguns for their night of. .well. . ..terror. Suspect David Williams made plans to meet the gun dealer later that day, but Williams couldn't quite procure the pistols.

The gun-hungry team tried again to pack some heat on April 28th. Williams finally had a meeting with his gun runner, but alas, no luck. The complaint reads:

"David Williams learned from the Female Gun Supplier that she had sold the guns to another buyer, and David Williams attempted to contact numerous other gun suppliers. .. David Williams asked Onta Williams to attempt to purchase guns for the Terrorist Operations. Onta Williams made several calls but was unsuccessful."

So let's pause and do the math. These menacing terrorists, bent on mass murder, have been trying to find a few measly handguns for 6 days, and they can't do it! These are four grown men, who can't seem to accomplish something that, sadly, 16-year-olds on the streets of Newark can do by hitting a speed dial key on their mobile phones!

Finally, on April 30th, a full week after the terror team started hunting for handguns, they found a Brooklyn man who agreed to sell them. ...hold your breath. ... exactly one .9 millimeter pistol. Now I'm not minimizing the danger posed by illegal handguns, but one fist full of steel, a terrorist does not make.

It turns out that one gun, is the only weapon the Newburgh bunch could find on their own. The FBI's confidential informant provided the fake C-4. The confidential informant provided the mock Stinger Missile system. The criminal complaint fails to tell who paid for the weapons, but given the reported employment histories of these men, I seriously doubt they were capable of dropping more than a few Benjamins on the international arms market. One guy reportedly works at Wal-Mart. One is reportedly unemployed. One recently took a leave of absence from his job as a steakhouse cook, according to his mother.

Oh and one more thing. The suspected ring-leader, James Cromitie admitted to a federal judge, he smoked marijuana before heading out to plant what he thought was 74 pounds of plastic explosives. Sounds like he was about as disciplined about his terror as Cheech and Chong.

I point all this out, only to highlight one trend worth watching in the Justice Department's continuing effort to infiltrate terror cells. FBI informants often provide all the resources, many of the suggestions, and nearly all the logistical support for the very terror plots the agency claims to bust.

In the 2007 the JFK terror plot, suspect Russell Defreitas was the alleged mastermind. Agents said he conducted extensive surveillance, videotaping the pipeline that brings fuel to airliners as he drove on the outskirts of the airport. Of course, Defreitas had no car. It was an FBI confidential informant who drove him around! Not only that. It was the FBI informant who paid for Defreitas's video camera! One of Defreitas's former neighbors said he accepted the suspect's mail because the Guyanese native was virtually homeless, often sleeping on trains and selling incense on street corners. Would he have been plotting to blow up an airport if the FBI's inside man hadn't been carting him around and picking up the lunch check?

This is not to condemn the FBI's use of confidential informants altogether. Jihadists are difficult to find. Often informants are the only tentacles capable of reaching deep into terrorist dens. Often FBI undercovers must provide material support to sinister plots. Otherwise they will never be accepted by the violent men they seek to take down. The trick is to be sure the informant never becomes the plotter. Confidential informants are essentially paid, freelance FBI agents. Let's hope these inside men are spending as much time winning the trust of capable terrorists as they are getting chummy with unemployed wanabes.

Everytime we bust up a terror plot, oh wait, man caused disaster plot, the left is going to report it as the Keystone Cops level of ineptness.
They did that to marginalize the Fort Dix 6.

The LSM is going to do this, be prepared.

Too bad a treason conviction won’t be sought.

I get the distinct feeling that this was done either as a Public Relations ploy, or as a way to ratchet up tensions about one issue or another, maybe Jewish support for some new initiative. Or maybe, the FBI is trying to push Congress to pass some new bill to make us “safe”.

Entrapment anyone?

Treason on the part of the FBI for the de-legitimizing of our judicial-system with its proactive entrapment techniques?

Imagine what the MSM would have been saying if the FBI had busted the terrorists plotting the 9/11 job.

Why - just the notion of somebody thinking they could hijack three airplanes simultaneously and fly them into buildings is just absurd!

This is a false flag by Obama to cover his ass when the real shite goes down. “Well, I broke up THAT cell!!!” (By using entrapment probably to the level of indoctrination - sounds like the 2008 election)

ya know... there was another small group of fairly incompetent guys that bought some box cutters with the intention of bringing down the WTC towers.

i guess this guy would dismiss that as well.

The stupidity defense. It almost worked in Florida. These guys deserve to be locked up for their evil intent and for the concrete acts they thought they were taking to effect that intent. Locking them up also will keep them from fouling an already much deteriorated national gene pool. The jails are full of angry, ignorant, racist criminals anxious to blame their plights on anything but their own evil behavior. Yet another reason for keeping the Guantanamo Boys on their sunny island and far away from such easily manipulated fools.

I don’t get the point of the article. We shouldn’t take anyone seriously unless they succeed? Isn’t that too late?
