ARTICLE SNIPPET from the link in post no. 1 (INTERNATIONAL NEWS ANALYSIS TODAY):

"According to Simmons, there may be as many as nine individuals who, like Montes, are in positions of influence within the U.S. intelligence services, working not to preserve the United States but to destroy it."

Read this when it first popped up:
“Sensitive data missing from National Archives”

It isn’t the first time Clinton has stolen info from the Archives. THIS has all the WH connections and strategy for what we are seeing unfold now.

They took good agents and analysts out of leading positions in ALL the Agencies and replaced them with young, ideologically leftist, STUPID, beancounters straight out of college and put them in charge of major intel ops.
Many senior analysts complained and were eventually pushed out of any meaningful input. Some were refused access altogether. Some of those who tried to expose this had their reputations smeared beyond belief. Many quit in frustration.
Classified memos conveniently disappeared, and some “eyes only” docs never made it to the places they were supposed to go. Some of the results of this were highly visible in areas where it was made to seem as if Intel had fallen down on the job or was incompetent in the extreme.
How many deaths were caused due to much of this, we do not know for certain. But it is certain that it was more than a simple few. Some very good people were lost, but they were invisible then, invisible now.
The latter entry into the services of islamist, (and islamist sympathizing,) operators put the nail in the coffins of many careers, subverted and distorted analysis, some of it simply made up to do as much damage as possible, feed raw data to enemies of the US, and the damage has yet to stop. The extent of these things might never be known.
Hard drives go missing. People in the service killed in foreign countries to steal their laptops or briefcases have been on the uptick since 911. None of this is reported.
Classified info has been leaked to embarrass the US, or identify agents, and/or halt successful ops both here and in foreign countries.
It is a mess and you never know who to trust. It makes an already dangerous situation for patriots damm near suicidal.

OPINION:

It may be hard to figure out who to trust; but honest people of sound mind and solid character; usually can and will take a stand and put their faith in themselves (at the very least) and other individuals who are like themselves — who are also of sound minds and solid characters.

No situation, person, group of persons or organization should make one “damn near suicidal.” If the situation can’t be rectified through lawful means; one should head out the door and find another job.

Anyway, that’s this housewife’s .5 cents worth...

The national security of the United States is for sale, and every American is in danger as a result, according to a counterintelligence expert who was central to the interrogation and conviction of a spy considered to be one of the most grave threats to national security ever apprehended in the United States.
This wouldn't be a problem if we got rid of all our enemies. Just an idea.

“”No situation, person, group of persons or organization should make one “damn near suicidal.’”

First of all, I said the SITUATION is so dangerous, it is damn near suicidal...meaning that agents who are already at risk, are at even greater risk today. Not that agents are suicidal.

“It may be hard to figure out who to trust; but honest people of sound mind and solid character; usually can and will take a stand and put their faith in themselves (at the very least) and other individuals who are like themselves — who are also of sound minds and solid characters.”

Beware of those who agree with you too much, Cindy. You know, the ones who smile in your face, tell you you’re right, walk in lockstep...until they stab you in the back.
Those who put themselves in harm’s way 24/7 have lost the wherewithal to discern who to trust. Too many new faces. Too many cross purposes. They are assigned.
Like you said, they can refuse an assignment and quit, leaving the assignment to someone less qualified which endangers everyone, or double their jeopardy and take the risk.
So tell me, if you can’t pick your partner(s), team members, or KNOW your contact, exactly how do you choose who to trust? And if the only one you can trust is yourself, how do you go about finding “likeminded” people? It’s a catch 22. And that is the situation, made far worse by this new administration, that the good guys find themselves in. It is a dilemma for the age.
Dick Cheney is right. This administration has endangered this country in ways too numerous to mention.
