"He also won silver in 2001 for his Islamic garden."

Unbelievable. Hopefully his spawn is not so "eccentric".

Blatant nepotism. I mean, she’s going to leave the family business to him, why gild the lily?

What? A raise bed filled with sand?

What a hard-charging, courageous bastard one has to be to win the coveted "Royal Horticultural Society Victoria Medal of Honour".

Most have sacrificed his nifty argyl sweater by diving on a tulip bulb to save an entire platoon of hedge-hogs.

I apologize for my previous comment. I am deeply ashamed if my prior comment offended anyone. I didn’t mean to be derogatory about the “religion of peace”.

The gardens at his house are absolutely stunning, and the smell of the flowers is wonderful. He has achieved something very, very impressive there. The Islamic garden has nothing to do with Mohammed, it is the layout (Persian rug patterns) of the plants he chose. The guy enjoys gardening. That hardly make him a pansy, and if gardening is eccentric, I guess I and millions of other people are, too. And I can’t see how this is nepotism, since the Royal Horticulture Society gave him the award, not the Queen, who merely presented it to him. I can understand why people are judgmental about his personal life, and envious of the life of privilege he leads, but surely a constructive, creative interest in gardening and farming is not something I would sneer at regardless of who has it. He could have just sat on his rear, swigging champagne and eating caviar, but he didn’t.

Charles seems to have an over-developed interest in Islam, an overdeveloped Al Gore carbon footprint while discouraging others from doing same.

He would not appear to be a suitable role model for The Empire. Hopefully his sons will turn out better.

Maybe you could post a few pictures of him actually hoeing his gardens or pulling weeds. Until I see evidence otherwise, I'm going to assume he's got a staff of servants actually doing the work, while he sits on his rear, swigging champagne and eating caviar while he orders the servants about.

People without royal blood can’t begin to understand the exertion required to order servants around.

I'll bet the situation is pretty much like that but he has gotten the best advice possible from the UK's best gardeners. Plus he has staff to carry out his wishes. He wants a special peach tree planted and it will be planted by staff or maybe Charles. I'm sure he gets his hands dirty in the soil. Matter of fact gardening is the thing he does best and he should drop his crazy stuff like global warming paranoia and promoting Islam. He gardens organically or so they say

That's true. My blood runs red, rather than blue.

And even with that disqualifier, it's still a bother to order servants around.

8-)

i’m sure they are very lovely indeed, but Chaz doesn’t exactly do it all by himself , he has people do to the actual dirty work, he sits around sipping champagne and eating caviar telling them HOW to do it.

Pr Charles is into homeopathy and other new age pursuits such as organic gardening. He’s kind of a hippie Prince. I’m sure you could not pin him down as a Christian and the British Royalty used to be known as defenders of the faith. All this is part of the reason he sucks up to the Islamics in the UK. He views Islam as a valid religion same as others, no better no worse
