I have been researching how to keep rabbits from my cabbages. Beside the obvious (fencing), I have found four intriguing suggestions:

• Garlic: critters hate the smell and will avoid it
• Marigolds: same principle as garlic, and some folks think they're pretty
• Piss on it: yes, it's true. The smell of human urine will deter rabbits and deer (or so I'm told). The urine can be collected in private and used in waterings.
• Hair: dog hair and/or human hair sprinkled on the ground will plant that scent.

Hopefully this has been informative, or at least amusing.

I use garlic, seems to work.

I bought marigolds this year, will see if that deters bugs.

I do use all of my pet fur/people hair, don't know if it deters but I'm sure it's good for the mulch pile!

Will have to tell hubby where to pee in the future... ;)
