It will collapse, there is no doubt about it. The only way Europe and China have been able to keep themselves going is because we provide them with goods and military protection. No one can buy our stuff and provide us with money, it won't be long before no one will loan us money, and the first attack after cutting the military will have people clamoring for protection. They won't be able to keep up the shell game for 10 years.
Sure, most Americans are fat, dumb and happy until they get a little bit uncomfortable. All I hear is whining about the economy and all the restaurants and movie theaters in my area are still packed to the rafters every weekend. These people will lose their minds if prices start to rise precipitously.
There are hard-core liberals in charge, but a good amount of their supporters are regular folks who just think it's nice to help those less fortunate than themselves, as long as they have the money to give and still be comfortable. They didn't sign on for a radically different, broke and vulnerable America.
OK, but you have described only a fraction of what will happen.
You believe there are people that will rise up against these people.
The paradigm will have shifted by then.
This requires a long answer.

You, and many Americans, see those in charge to be just another group of wacky liberals—they are not.
You don’t have to dig too deep to discover that these people are deeply connected to the hard-left, you know, communists.
Why do you suppose the left has worked so hard to take-over the educational system, inside and out? Do you think it’s an accident that 85% of professors support left-wing policies?
How about the media?
How about local governments?
They have infilitrated most of our fundamental institutions and power centers.
They have censored your speech with “political correctness” and “hate crimes”. These are but a foot-in-the-door to controlling speech. Much less of a problem when you own the press, isn’t it?
They have taxed you to the point of slavery—if you work for a living you will work most of every year just to pay ALL of your taxes, fees, surcharges, etc.
We have a President who STATED CLEARLY: “[the Constitution] is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.”
“...MUST DO ON YOUR BEHALF.”
Does this worry anyone, besides me?

Christ! What do people need to see?
Do words not matter?
Do a man’s associations and past behavior no longer predict future behavior?
Where are the thinkers in this country?
Why do they insist on deluding themselves and not seeing what is right before them?
He’s nationalized major banks, financial institutions and corporations.
He’s fired a CEO.
He’s effectively handed GM to a powerful union.
He’s given billions to ACORN a hard-left activist group and clearly tied to majore voter fraud.
He’s effectively handed THE CENSUS to ACORN.
He’s shackled generations of Americans with debt—part of the plan, by the way.
He’s threatening us with cap and trade legislation that is a nail in America’s coffin.
He’s threatening us with national health care. That, if passed, will be the end of America as you know it.

He is NOT Jimmy Carter folks. He is NOT a liberal.
He is a communist. Look at his past. Look at his associations. Read his books. This is not hard to see.

Is he a socialist. Yes.
Is socialism just another means to the communists end. Yes.
Communism doesn’t start with piles of corpses. It begins with hope and change.
