I wouldn't try calamari on a dare,

Why wouldn't you try it? It has a very mild, pleasant taste. It can be a bit chewey if nor ptoperly prepared.

About 3 weeks back, I had the best calamari ever at the Dock & Dine in Old Saybrook, before the lobster came. YUM!

The first time my son had calamari he liked it.

My son (5) has a big appetite for a dish that is basically the same as calamari at a Chinese restaurant we go to - and he's a picky eater!

You should. It really is very good.

For someone new to it I would recommend the calamari rings over the smaller calamari.
