There is something I really like about the old black and white movies and shows. There was an genuine innocence that is missing from today. IMHO, it also seems the acting was better back then.
I saw an interview she had with Robert Osborne sometime before she passed away; she was still full of life and energy, despite some rough times. I think she was a devout Catholic in her latter years.
The acting, and especially the writing.

Makes my 43 year old self wish I was born during a different generation, just for the possible chance of meeting such a lady. I’d love for the chance to meet many of the leading ladies of even prior generations.
And yes, she’s totally awesome. And Bob Hope is an icon, awesome, and thanks for the link.

That genuine innocence is called adult maturity. It used to pass for normal behavior.
