However, posting really nasty remarks against the governor's children and grandson is beyond the pale. I didn't like it when it was done to Huck's family, and I certainly don't like it with Palin's.
BTW, over the past couple of weeks, the Mittsters have taken their gutter tactics against Palin to all new lows. Just check the threads I've previously cited.
If you don't wish to have your children be a topic of discussion, get them off the stage.
Ask Governor Palin's father to refrain from giving interviews with US Magazine about family business.
Persuade her daughter to step down from her public position and stop giving interviews and speeches. She is a spokesperson because of who she is and it is disingenuous to expect everyone to smile and agree, and for her detractors not to use what she says.
Her spokespersons need to stop responding in the tabloids about Levi Johnson.
And her supporters need to stop posting pictures of her family as well.
If you want it to cease being about her family, that works in both directions. You can't claim "she's such a great mom" and then say "but her family is off limits". There is at least one photo of her with one of her children in this thread, posted by a supporter.
Discussion is not a one way street and one side does not get to set the terms them promptly break them for their own benefit.

I'm not a Mitt fan (or Huckabee's, either), but when they mention their children, they become topics of conversation, too. One of the minor irritations of the campaign last year was Romney comparing his sons to soldiers, saying that they were serving their country campaigning for him. I didn't like it now, and I didn't like it then. If memory serves me, I didn't like the special treatment Huckabee's son got, either.
No politician deserves special treatment. Not one of them.
