Championships. Money. Fame. Competition. Those are the things that drive most quarterbacks. Not Brett Favre though; he's more interested in revenge.
According to a New York Daily News column by Gary Myers, a(nother) Favre return to the NFL would be motivated by his desire to get revenge on the Packers, the team that kicked him to the curb last spring in favor of Aaron Rodgers.

If he came back, he would win the two games against the Packers and lose the other 14 (just not interested). Go for it Vikes!
when michael jordan was inducted into the hall of fame a few months ago, he said it was tough because he realized he would never play again. he's been out of the game for a long time and he still thought he could compete!
favre is that same way, it seems.
revenge for making over $100million dollars in his career there?
Everyone thinks how great it is to be a world class athlete but the tough thing is you are treated like a “god” and you start believing you are.
Brett can’t get out of the limelight. He needs to stop watching Rocky movies.
I agree with your assessment...and I consider the fact that Favre, (who I happen to consider one of the all-time great players of the game) cannot let go of the one thing he has accomplished in life a bit sad. That he has accumulated tremendous wealth and fame but seems to have nothing else in life is more than sad.
By what definition of "great men" can this child of a man be considered "great"? If the NFL allowed QBs to be hit just like RBs, WRs and TEs can be, this perennial drama queen would have been out of football a decade ago.
Revenge? Gheesh, Brett Farve, you just made my list of "5 people I'd like to punch in the face." Now who do I bump off the list, octa-mom or Gloria Allred, inquiring minds would like to know?
packers are switching to a 3-4 defense
have fun Adrian Peterson
Here’s why Favre is returning. The all-time NFL leader in starts is a Minnesota lineman who started 271 consecutive games. I think Favre wants that record. Any beef with Green Bay is just WWE soap opera stuff.
Jim Marshall .. wow.. 282 games.. what a record and a legacy.
I was pretty young when he was tearing them up.
I think you'd better stick with Allred and Octomom. Favre is 6' 2" and around 220. He can also throw a football 70 yards.
Right now I'm planning on kicking Michael Jackson's butt, then working my way up to Gary Coleman. That "What you talkin about Willis" bit is getting real old.
Okay, real thing about this. I was listening to an interview with a guy who had to retire from the NFL because of a neck injury. He was not disabled, but was told that if he got another hit like that he'd be paralyzed. He seriously considered trying to come back. He said that nothing in the world compared to running out on that field with 70,000 people either cheering or booing you. The most people that have ever cheered me was probably around 7,000 (long story, I hadn't done anything special) and I can't imagine how addictive being a pro football player must be.
Brett will probably have to be carried off like Joe Thiesman before he leaves the game.
