I don’t know. Actually, I haven’t seen the sequel to that (28 Weeks Later).

Yes, this is a nightmare, possibly-airborne rabies. Even my indoor cats will have to be vaccinated, assuming that there is one for this strain.

The sad part? I’ve had more than one video store clerk search for it...

I don’t know where you live but in the spring we often see bobcats and their young roaming around our front yard. Coyotes and Javelinas, too. Sometimes I feel like I should take a gun down with me to get the mail at the end of the driveway. But, the animals were there first...we just try to keep out of their way.

Oh, man. I have GOT to do that. Thanks for the idea!
To: nickcarraway
This is neat; what if it could be transmitted by mosquittos! Whew the death count would be utterly freakin’ stunning! And best yet, it’s a painfully agonizing prolonged death. Just have to watch and see!

Hi, I’m No. Calif. We see them too, but I’ve never seen them out in mid day. My cat got out one night and thought he’d take one of them on.....I sure didn’t want to shoot either one of them and managed to scare the bob cat off, finally. As you said, they were here first.

The even sadder part? One of them stubbornly continued to look for it even after I explained it was a joke. Go figure...

Good thing to keep an eye on, specifically for massive die-offs in rural mammalian populations. Which are, in turn, food for certain useful predators. (And people ask me why I carry a firearm when I’m on my property!)
To: Billthedrill
Why do you carry a firearm when you’re on your own property?

Rabies distribution in the U.S.

CDC is still using this same map from 2005.

Ha! Why am I not surprised?
To: Lady Jag
WOW! Thank you for the map, LJ. Looks like rabies has spread more than we realized. (I was surprised that it didn’t have bats or bobcats on it.) Two rabid bobcats have been killed in my area of AZ recently.
