Cinco de Mayo is not even Mexican Independence Day, which is 16 September. Cinco de Mayo commemorates a battle between Mexico and France. Mexicans don’t even celebrate it nationally. Cinco de Mayo as a holiday in the USA is a sham like Kwanza.

Cinco de Mayo is nothing but an excuse for Budweiser and Corona to sell more beer. It’s a beer holiday, kind of like St. Patrick’s day for non-Irish.
