The BBC did a special on him back in 99 called Boiling Point just after he left Aubergine. It’s very telling to see how big his ego is and the idiotic things he does on camera. I am convinced he does this all to get attention to help build his empire. But, there is a point where it will back fire and I think it has.
Besides, high end cooking is like the art world. It’s filled by arrogant idiots who find pleasure in food that most of us would never touch. On top of that, they pay out the nose for little portions that look nice. I don’t care what the food looks like on the plate as long is it’s good.
