Why is it that the libs never get burned with a Souter like we did? (IE: Someone we thought was OK when Bush 41 nominated him)

When Warren Rudman was out there backing him, I thought Souter would be a disaster.

White (appointed by Kennedy) and Frankfurter (by FDR) turned out a lot more conservative than liberals thought they’d be. But yes, it seems that it’s always the conservative appointees who “grow” - that is, go left.

Justice Anthony “Flipper” Kennedy being a good example.

Because no matter how conservative the judge, once they get to Washington the urge to seek the clucking approval of the media/intellectual elite and the cocktail circuit pulls them left. It’s like gravity.
