There are good reasons not to release cats & dogs into the woods. Have you ever heard of a pack of wild dogs attacking a child? Or the feral cats that become a huge problem when they start having litters of kittens? I have had to go out & trap such cats & it isn't fun. Nor are the wild dogs that kill your pets or attack people. If you can't find a home for your pet then take it to a shelter or your vet & have it put down. It is your responsibility as the owner to make sure you care for it. If you can't be a responsible pet owner then do not own a pet.

thank you, this is what I am trying to say. Along with rights (like owning property, live or inanimate) come responsibilities. There are right and wrong ways to be a pet owner, and there are right and wrong ways if you decide you no longer want that responsibility. He picked an irresponsible way, and it happens that where he is there is a penalty associated with being an irresponsible pet owner who did what he did.

Well, I was being specific about bunnies. I hear what you are saying about feral cats and dogs.
