Wrong. We have standards and laws specifying animal cruelty, and neglect, and abandonment of domestic animals. You don’t have carte blanche to do whatever the hell you want and torture your animal to death. There are what we call ‘humane’ standards that society has developed with respect to animals. They vary from community to community, and country to country, but we have them, and that’s what this guy violated.
If he wanted to be responsible and no longer wanted the pet (and it’s obvious he didn’t because only an idiot lets an animal go because they outgrow a cage) he could have taken it to an animal shelter. He could have offered the bunny for sale to someone on craigslist.
I am getting you don’t understand that domestic prey animals like house rabbits have no survival skills in the wilderness, they have never lived there, and have zero familiarity with anything. They don’t know to be afraid of cars, they sit out in the open unaware they are targets for hawks and other things that might swoop down and kill them. It is not a favor to do this to a domesticated prey animal.
