This feature is something that many (most) people are not pleased about.
No doubt.

Lengthy article comparing features. What he does not mention is whether IE-8 has the flexibility to customize the browser with individualized add-ons. If it doesn't then Firefox still has the advantage, IMO.

Microsoft sent me an update this a.m. that included IE-8. I unchecked the download for that browser and checked the box saying "don't remind me again."

I love my Firefox especially the new personas that can customize the basic browser with images to match your mood.

i have firefox updated.

tonight i went into yahoo.com to drudge.com

and i got this in my top address bar:

i copied it and inserted it into a new window and drudge comes up.

what is this?

Someone educate me - is there a difference between firefox and flock? I know flock is built on the mozilla firefox platform, but I don’t know if the terms are interchangeable.

That won't stop them, they will keep sending the update periodically. I have to do it with IE updates all the time, same update every two or three days. I use Firefox and wish I could take IE off permanently(I am sure others wish this also). I don't care what they do with IE I will keep using Firefox.
