Thanks for the ping Diana. I’m adding NellieMae to the ping list (gabz, can you add her?). We had a freeper’s meeting last week and I had the chance to meet her in person.

She even raises her own worms. INTERESTING lady. I, of course, have bragged about Diana and all the gardeners on this list to Nellie Mae. She will love you all.

Gardengirl, my heirloom tomatoes are doing great. I have them planted everywhere (containers, ground, etc.) Also the hybrids are growing in the veggie garden. My garden is BEAUTIFUL so far this year (crossing fingers). And my LIAM is coming up everywhere!!! Hope yours is doing well.

I have lettuce ready to pick, green onions, and some big brocholli I started in the mini greenhouse. While most folks around here are just plowing up their ground, I am harvesting.

I have an idea, a plan to turn my garden into a greenhouse this winter. This is a great article. I have learned (the hard way) most of these lessons.

I have a window box with herbs, and my biggest problem is I just can’t get Thyme to grow!!!!

I owe you mail Grammy, was thinking about you and your grandkids today. I spent the day on the lake (on the pontoon boat) and told hubby I HAVE TO get you and those kids fishing with me this summer.

I planted three small gardens this week-end - tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, squash, green beans, lettuce, cabbage, spinach, cantaloupe = can’t wait for some fresh vegetables!

Thanks for the ping girl. I can proudly report Granddaughter and I have planted our first seeds today!

Several months ago we had a bulldozer clear about 2 acres of dead standing wood so we could make use of the land. Much of it is still a mess, with trees to burn and land that needs to be leveled, but we knew going in this was a several year project.

Mr G and I have been working very hard on our little spot that we laid out to garden in. It is about the size of a 2 car garage, and we have pulled about 40 thousand rocks out of it. I think some enemy has sown rock seeds there!

Mr G has made the boxes for us, and today we filled them with wonderful dirt and got our asparagus and carrots started. We need more asparagus crowns, already. I bought some tomato plants and peppers today since I didn’t get seeds started early enough, and tomorrow I will plant lots of other seeds. I will save some so g-son can help after school. Too late to get peas and spinach going. Will try some lettuce to see if it will make it.

We are figuring the garden is too small already.

Mr G’s daddy had a HUGE garden when G was a child. He has worked really really hard on getting this going, and has had a ball. When we start eating from it he will like it even more!

Our next chore is cleaning up a spot to get some fruit trees going.

Hey y’all!

I can only play for a little bit and then I have to go to bed! I have really missed everybody!

Oh My Gosh

We have been so busy! It’s great, but I am so tired!

girlangler—sounds like you’re having fun! Wish I could go fishing. Thot about it yest, but I’m on some stupid meds—stay out of direct sunlight. I zip in and out of the greenhouse but I’m not quite brave enough to go out on the boat! LIAMS are doing great. Haven’t gotten them planted outside yet, only because I haven;t had time.

Red—the pics are great! How are the pups and the figs? LOL

We’ve got most of our garden in. The peas are doing great, cauliflower is almost ready to pick, broccoli is so-so. Bak choi and cabbage are beautiful. Green beans, cukes, zukes, and squash are popping out of the ground. Tomatoes and peppers are doing well, still small. Lettuces and spinach in bowls are tasty, had some a couple times.

We had a gale here last week, thot everything was going to blow away. About a week from the north, and then it switched to the south for a couple days. Gusts to 50. My poor peas are leaning every which way! Now it’s decided to go from winter to mid summer over night. Had to put the shade cloth on the greenhouse today.

Di—my buff orpingtons are a month old and they are so cute! We got them out in the coop a week ago. Mallards coming in tom.

Have fun everybody, and I’ll check back in as I get time.
