Found this on line while studing about the 60's, a great example of how the GOP has sold out and held back Conservatism through the years. We MUST take the party back again.

With the likes of Bush, McCain and the big spenders in congress, the GOP no longer represents conservative values.
That is why after 30+ years as a Republican I am now registered as an Independent.

With very few exceptions rthew entire GOP is a bunch of spineless cowards. They are far more interested in staying in office than doing the work they are supposed to be doing. It is a complete falshood if anyone thinks that the GOP has your best interest at heart.

But Richard Nixon was at heart a Machiavellian, which is to say that he believed that the fundamental truths of politics were not about principles, but about power. In his memorable book Witness, Whitaker Chambers portrays Nixon as a hero who risked his political career to stand up for his friends and for the country when it would have been much easier to turn his back on both.

We have a two party system. One party represents free spending big government liberals and the other is the Democrat party.

Do you have a link to your source on this article?
I assume this is from the Claremont Institute, since as far as I’m aware, there is no Clearmont Institute.

Or would have been, had the American people not preferred John Kennedy by a narrow margin. The American people did not elect JFK. That election was stolen in Cook County Ill. I wish our side would support real history. As far as the pubbies go I think we have been lied too and used for a long long time. RINOs knifing us in the back just as we were about to have an effect. McCain, Gram, Voinovich, Arlen, Snow...you listening? They better change their stripes, or they are on the way out.

screed from Summer 2005... “The whole political history of the United States seemed to hiccup and stall, while the country contended, for 16 precious years, with the phenomenon and consequences of one strange, stubborn, and ambiguous man: Richard Nixon.”

The problem is that I see no new group of conservatives, no “New Right”. We have committed demographic suicide with immigration, have allowed the left to control eduction, and let Hollywood dominate our culture. America will be left to rot in the hands of those not of our belief or kin.
