For most people, as a one shot, no. However, you aren’t supposed to make a habit of it. After the 50,000 IU, that is why you drop it back down to a 3,000 IU maintenance dose.

Plus, I would start with 3,000 IU in one day, just to make sure you don’t have any sensitivity to it. That is, before you are sick.

You can get 20,000 iu’s of vitamin D with 20 minutes of full body exposure to the sun. Your body gets it within 48 hours.
