about 60 to 70% of the dogs at the local animal shelter are listed as either a pit bull or pit bull mix. Do you think they have it wrong as well?

My dog was listed as a german shepherd/red heeler mix... That should give you some ideo of the high level of breed knowledge posessed by most shelter workers.

They were not competent enough to NOT send a pitbull home to a family with four little kids. I about had a heart attack when I figured out what he really was.

Yes I do.

I would venture that the average shelter worker would get at least three of my dogs wrong.

Shelter people are not experts and clearly mislabel dogs much. Neither are vets or indeed, many breeders. Dogs simply vary too much, especially if they are mutts, and that is the #1 reason I am against banning “This breed” and “That breed”.
